Showcasing Local-company Technological Capabilities and City Strengths for 50th ADB Annual Meeting

Coinciding with the 50th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting in Yokohama, the city set up their “Yokohama City Booth” in the PACIFICO Yokohama Exhibition Hall to showcase the technological strengths of companies located in Yokohama, appealing aspects of the city and more.

Local corporations displayed a prosthetic leg produced using 3D printing technology, an LED-grown vegetable garden and other examples of leading-edge technologies. Additionally, the city used techniques including 360-degree images and projection mapping to provide a simulated Yokohama sightseeing experience, which has proven very popular among visitors.

On Thursday, May 4, an opening ceremony was held with Senior Vice Minister of Finance Minoru Kihara, ADB Deputy Director General Woochong Um and Yokohama Deputy Mayor Katsunori Watanabe in attendance.
