50th ADB Annual Meeting: Seminar to Promote More Active Roles for Women

As part of the 50th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting in Yokohama, five leaders from Japan and abroad, including Yokohama Mayor Fumiko Hayashi, led a seminar titled “Women’s Leadership for Vibrant, Inclusive and Sustainable Asia,” during which they discussed ways to promote women’s leadership with an eye toward development and growth throughout Asia. All members expressed the vital importance of female leaders in various fields as well as their determination to achieve change and progress, making the seminar an important first step toward a stronger Asia in which women can truly harness their skills and abilities to the fullest.

Held as a 50th ADB Annual Meeting event, this seminar was made possible through active proposals to the ADB by the Yokohama municipal government.
